

If the update does not appear to work in an existing project, you must continue to troubleshoot. It's a good idea to test if the update fixed your current project. I will try that, though it's still unacceptable that I wouldn't be able to use my current project since that is the project I am concerned about, not a new test project. Under Premiere's audio hardware my output device is just set to the stereo out port connected to my studio monitors.
